Ferhat Pakdamar

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ferhat Pakdamar is a faculty member at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture at Istanbul Technical University. He previously served at Gebze Technical University, holding roles including Deputy Dean and full-time academic positions from 2014-2024. His research focuses on earthquake-resistant architectural design and materials/technology in architecture.

Research Interests:

His work spans seismic vulnerability assessment, fuzzy logic applications in structural analysis, historical building preservation, and intelligent facade technologies. He has led projects like the Kuzey Marmara Highway bridge consultancy and seismic retrofitting studies for 144 bridges across Turkish highways.

Publications:

Recent works include studies on museum artifact protection, mosque roles in disasters, and 3D-printed composite materials. His research emphasizes bridging engineering principles with architectural aesthetics, particularly in disaster-resilient design.
