Felix Haass is an Assistant Professor for Comparative Politics at Humboldt University of Berlin and affiliated with the Hertie School. His research focuses on political violence, authoritarian regimes, and the inner workings of dictatorships. He co-founded the Humboldt Governance Lab (hu-govlab.de), which provides evidence-based policy advice on democracy challenges. Previously, he was based at the University of Oslo.
Key research areas include the security apparatus of dictatorships, foreign military training impacts, and electoral dynamics.
