Prof. Dr. Felix Diergarten is a full-time Professor of Music Theory and Composition at the Lucerne School of Music (HSLU), part of Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. He specializes in music analysis, history of music theory, and studies of composers such as Anton Bruckner, Haydn, and Josquin des Prez. His career includes roles as Professor for Historical Music Theory at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (2009–2016) and Professor for Music Theory at Musikhochschule Freiburg (2016–2023). He holds a Dr.phil. from Dresden Hochschule für Musik and has been honored with awards from the Cusanuswerk, Richard-Wagner-Verband, and MERKUR Essay Competition. His research focuses on liturgical music, compositional techniques, and historical performance practices.
