Dr Felipe Anaya is an Assistant Teaching Professor and Director of Chemical Engineering Laboratories at the University of Kansas School of Engineering. His research bridges fundamental catalysis with practical engineering applications, focusing on Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, biomass conversion, and chemical reaction engineering. He directs laboratory instruction for undergraduate chemical engineering students and leads the Chemical Engineering REU - IDEA Incubator program.
Research contributions include developing novel biphasic catalytic systems for enhanced hydrocarbon synthesis and optimizing catalyst designs for biomass upgrading processes. Recent educational innovations feature new approaches to process dynamics experiments and the implementation of pilot-scale distillation equipment for engineering laboratories.
