Felien Laureys

Felien Laureys is a Researcher at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences (since 2023) within the Prevention and Empowerment research line and concurrently collaborates with Ghent University's People and Well-being research group on transgressive behavior studies.

Her academic credentials include:

• Master's degree in Sports and Movement Sciences, specialising in sports training and coaching (2017, Ghent University)

Her research focuses on sports psychology and athlete well-being, examining cognitive and psychological skill development for young athletes' talent progression and investigating violence/transgressive behaviour in adult sports. Current work co-supports a project on athlete safety under Tine Vertommen's expertise, aiming to develop prevention frameworks while integrating insights from her active competitive coaching practice.
