Felice Lifshitz is a Professor in the Department of Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Arts. She holds advanced degrees including a PhD, MPhil, MA, and BA. Her research focuses on medieval cultural and religious history, particularly manuscript studies, women's and gender history, and the representation of the past in film. She founded and directed the Working Group for Pre-Modern Histories and Cultures at Florida International University, emphasizing global medieval studies.
Her current projects include Projections: Audiovisual Histories of the European Middle Ages, exploring cinema as historical representation. She teaches courses such as Feminism and Film, Religion and Social Justice, and Histories of Gender, integrating interdisciplinary and womanist perspectives.
Her publications include Reading Gender (2023), Writing Normandy (2020), and co-edited volumes on gender and historical film. She actively engages with public scholarship, advocating for inclusive historical narratives and cross-cultural dialogues.
