Fei Chen

Fei Chen is a Professor in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). With a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (2005), he has held academic positions including Associate Professor at SUSTech (2014-2020) and Research Assistant Professor at The University of Hong Kong (2012-2014).

His research focuses on speech perception, biomedical signal processing, and brain-computer interfaces, with applications in hearing assistance and neural engineering. His recent publications explore cortical auditory responses, frequency-compressed speech, and noise-robust intelligibility metrics.

Dr. Chen is a Senior Member of IEEE, Full Member of the Acoustical Society of America, and recipient of the 2011 National Organization for Hearing Research Foundation Research Award (USA) and the 2015 Best Presentation Award at the Asia Pacific Conference of Speech, Language and Hearing.
