Federica Poli

Federica Poli is an Associate Professor at the Department of Engineering and Architecture, University of Parma, Italy. She obtained her Electronic Engineering degree with honors in 2002 and PhD in Information Technology in 2006 from the same university. Since 2016, she has focused on advanced research in special optical fibers, photonic crystal fibers, fiber lasers, and numerical electromagnetic analysis methods.

Her research spans three key areas: special optical fibers for novel photonic applications, fiber lasers and amplifiers with emphasis on thermal management and multicore configurations, and numerical electromagnetic analysis techniques. Recent publications highlight advancements in underwater optical communication channels, MIR cascade lasing mechanisms, and FBG quality optimization in dysprosium-doped fiber lasers. These works demonstrate her expertise in both theoretical modeling and experimental validation.

She serves as a scientific reviewer for multiple journals and contributes to curriculum development through courses like Elements of Electromagnetism and Photonic Devices at the Master's and bachelor's levels.
