Federica Orsenigo

Dr. Federica Orsenigo is a Research Fellow in Immunology at the University of Surrey, affiliated with the School of Biosciences within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. She holds a BSc and MSc from the University of Milano-Bicocca and a PhD. Her research focuses on allergenicity risk assessment of novel proteins, leveraging in vitro immune cell models and linking clinical phenotypes with HLA genotypes. She collaborates on projects funded by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the Giant Leaps EU initiative.

Dr. Orsenigo teaches Advanced Immunology, Food Technology and Safety, and Food Allergy modules at the University of Surrey. She has supervised students across BSc, MSc, and PhD programs at both Surrey and Milano-Bicocca. Her memberships include the British Society of Immunology and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).

Her recent work includes developing screening tools for allergenic proteins and exploring macrophage activation pathways. She contributes to interdisciplinary projects bridging immunology, food science, and clinical research.
