Prof. Fawzi Banat serves as Professor in the Chemical & Petroleum Engineering Department at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE, and directs the Food Security and Technology Center. He previously held academic positions at Jordan University of Science and Technology, University of Bahrain, German Jordanian University, and McGill University, while occupying key administrative roles including Department Head, Dean of Research, and Dean of Graduate Studies.

Research Leadership: An internationally recognized pioneer in desalination and sustainable resource technologies, Prof. Banat's work spans membrane distillation, solar desalination, food packaging films, biofuel upgradation, and electromagnetic salt separation. His research integrates chemical engineering principles with food security applications, emphasizing practical solutions for water scarcity and renewable energy through nanocomposites, supercritical extraction, and capacitive deionization.
