معرفی
Prof. Fatma Sultan Kılıç is a distinguished Professor at Eskisehir Osmangazi University Medical Faculty in the Department of Medical Pharmacology. She serves as Director of the Health Sciences Institute (2022-present) and is an active member of the University Senate. Her academic career spans over three decades with significant contributions to pharmacological research.
Prof. Kılıç completed her undergraduate medical education at Ankara University School of Medicine (1980-1986), followed by specialization in Medicine at Eskisehir Osmangazi University Medical Faculty (1991-1995). She earned her Doctorate from Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Institute of Educational Sciences (2015-2021). Her extensive academic journey has positioned her as a leading figure in pharmacological research and medical education.
Her research focuses on neuropsychopharmacology, particularly investigating natural compounds and established drugs for their effects on cognitive function, schizophrenia models, depression, anxiety, and pain management. Prof. Kılıç has made significant contributions to understanding how substances like galangin, curcumin, pregabalin, and various other compounds affect neurological and psychiatric conditions. Her work often employs sophisticated animal models to evaluate behavioral, neurobiological, and morphological outcomes.
The analysis of her most recent publications reveals a strong emphasis on natural compounds (galangin, Euterpe oleracea, curcumin) and their effects on cognitive function and neurological disorders. Her research demonstrates expertise in schizophrenia models, depression paradigms, and pain mechanisms. The interdisciplinary nature of her work bridges pharmacology, neuroscience, and psychiatry, with consistent methodological rigor in utilizing appropriate animal models and behavioral tests.
Prof. Kılıç has successfully supervised 12 graduate students through their thesis work, demonstrating her commitment to academic mentorship. Her research has been supported by various institutional frameworks at Eskisehir Osmangazi University, where she has held multiple leadership positions including Director of the Health Sciences Institute and Head of Department.
She co-founded and manages the Neuropsychopharmacology Laboratory (established May 2014) at the university, which serves as the primary research hub for her team's investigations into neurological and psychiatric drug mechanisms. The laboratory facilitates sophisticated behavioral testing and pharmacological evaluations central to her research program.
