Fatma Inci Çilesiz

Prof. Dr. Fatma Inci Çilesiz is a Professor at Istanbul Technical University's Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, part of the Faculty of Electrical-Electronics Engineering. She holds a PhD from The University of Texas at Austin, where she conducted postgraduate studies with a Fulbright scholarship. Her research focuses on Bioelectronics, Biomedical Optics, Photonics, and Laser-Tissue Interactions. She has held positions as Programme Head (2003–2005, 2007–2014), Vice President of Department, and senior research fellow at the Netherlands' Lasercentrum. She teaches courses like EHB 222E (Introduction to Electronics) and EHB 262E (Fundamentals of Electronics).

• Education: BSc (1986) from ITU, MSE/PhD (1994) from UT Austin.
• Postdoctoral Research: Amsterdam (2000–2002), Tel Aviv (1998), Minnesota (2007), and UT Austin (1989–1994).
• Professional Memberships: Optical Society of America (since 2007), SPIE (since 1997).

Her research spans biomedical instrumentation, optical imaging, and biosensor development. She has supervised over 25 theses, including projects on laser systems, tissue characterization, and medical device innovation. She actively reviews TÜBİTAK grants (1001, 1003, 1501) and collaborates internationally in photonics and biomedical engineering.
