Fatma Arslan

Fatma Arslan is a Professor of Instruction in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at San Antonio's College of Sciences. Her research focuses on computer vision, image processing applications, orthogonal transforms, and image enhancement techniques. She has developed novel methods for medical image enhancement, directional denoising, and tensor-based image processing.

Dr. Arslan holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UTSA, an M.S. from the University of Arizona, and a B.S. from Bilkent University. Her publications demonstrate consistent contributions to image processing algorithms and educational methodologies in engineering fields.

Her research explores advanced techniques in image enhancement, including paired transform methods, α-rooting algorithms, and tensor-based approaches. This work has applications in medical imaging, aerial photography, and educational technology.
