معرفی
Fatma Terzioglu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at North Carolina State University (NC State), part of the College of Sciences. Previously, she was a W. H. Kruskal Instructor at the University of Chicago, working with Guillaume Bal. She earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics from Texas A&M University in 2018 under the supervision of Peter Kuchment. Her research focuses on analytic and computational methods for inverse problems in imaging sciences, including medical, industrial, and homeland security applications, alongside applied harmonic analysis.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Texas A&M University, 2018
Research Interests: Terzioglu’s work centers on developing algorithms for inverse problems in imaging, particularly in computed tomography (CT) and Compton camera imaging. She explores uniqueness criteria, reconstruction techniques, and integral transforms like the Radon and cone transforms. Her research integrates numerical analysis, partial differential equations, and control/optimization principles.
Grants and Funding: Her current research is supported by NSF DMS 2206279, focusing on advancing computational methods for medical and industrial imaging challenges. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to apply mathematical theories to real-world imaging problems.
Labs/Teams: She contributes to NC State’s research groups in Control, Optimization and Modeling; Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing; and Ordinary Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, and Analysis.
