Fatima Alves

Fatima Alves is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC Rio). She earned her doctorate in Education from PUC Rio and has participated in the institution's Fellowship Programs as a Visiting Scholar in 2014.

Her research focuses on the Brazilian educational system, with a strong emphasis on educational policy, school choice policies for teachers, educational assessments, and accountability. She actively contributes to cross-national comparisons of education systems, engaging both Brazilian and international audiences through books, articles, and reports.
