Fatima Alaoui is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at San Francisco State University, where she also coordinates graduate studies. Her research focuses on critical rhetoric, transnational feminism, gender and sexuality studies, and the intersection of digital media with social movements. She examines how marginalized voices challenge power structures through communication practices in contexts such as social media, political discourse, and cultural production.
Dr. Alaoui holds a Ph.D. from the University of Denver. Her work addresses topics including queer intercultural communication, decolonial methodologies in communication studies, and the sociopolitical dynamics of North African and Middle Eastern contexts. She has published extensively on themes like African epistemologies, postcolonial feminisms, and the rhetorical strategies of resistance in digital spaces.
