Fatih TUFANER is an Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Adıyaman University. He holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from Yıldız Technical University (2005), an M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering (2009), and a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering (2015), all from Yıldız Technical University. His academic career includes roles as a lecturer (2012–2016) and Assistant Professor (2016–2023) at Adıyaman University, and he was awarded Associate Professorship (Doçent) in Environmental Sciences and Engineering in 2020.
Professional Experience: Prior to his current position, he worked as an environmental engineer in the private sector (2005–2006) and at Beyoğlu Municipality (2007–2010). He also served as Deputy Director of Çankırı Karatekin University Kızılırmak Vocational School (2010–2012). His administrative roles at Adıyaman University include Deputy Director of the Research and Application Center (2016–2019) and Board Membership (2016–2017).
Research Interests: Focus areas include biogas production optimization, anaerobic treatment systems, noise pollution control, drought analysis, and sustainable energy solutions. He has led projects on biogas systems from cattle waste, environmental noise mapping (e.g., Atatürk Hydroelectric Plant), and wastewater treatment innovations.
Key Contributions: Authored/co-authored over 20+ peer-reviewed articles and conference papers. Notable works include AI-based modeling for biogas production, machine learning for asthma patient prediction linked to air pollution, and drought monitoring using neural networks. He has received the "2211-C Doctoral Scholar" award.
Education and Grants: Actively involved in academic projects funded by institutions like TUBITAK, focusing on biogas infrastructure, pollution control, and environmental engineering education. His work bridges applied research and practical solutions for environmental challenges in Turkey.
