Farrah Greene-Palmer, Ph.D., serves as Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the MSCP/PsyD program at Alaska Pacific University. A licensed psychologist, she brings extensive clinical and academic experience from prior roles at the University of Virginia, Piedmont Virginia Community College, Western Washington University, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She previously held an Assistant Professor position at the Medical University of the Americas and worked in public health for the State of Alaska.
Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Arts from Johns Hopkins University
- Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa
- Post-doctoral fellowship at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences' suicide behavior lab
Dr. Greene-Palmer specializes in suicide prevention, conducting scholarship and educational outreach to advance evidence-based interventions. Her research integrates clinical psychology with public health initiatives, addressing mental health disparities in diverse populations through culturally responsive frameworks. She focuses on developing scalable prevention strategies for high-risk communities, particularly in Alaskan contexts.
As Graduate Program Director, she mentors counseling psychology students and shapes curriculum to meet accreditation standards. Her leadership extends to community partnerships with Alaska's public health sector to improve statewide mental health services. Dr. Greene-Palmer will pursue advanced research during her 2025-2026 sabbatical.
