Farnoush Reshadi is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at The Business School of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), joining in July 2020. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from West Virginia University, an MBA from the University of Tehran, and advanced degrees in E-commerce and Computer Engineering from Iranian institutions.
Her research focuses on consumer decision-making biases related to financial and health choices, emphasizing public policy interventions to mitigate harmful marketing practices. Key areas include gift-giving behavior, payment pain theory, and healthcare consumerism. Reshadi's work has been published in outlets like Journal of Consumer Affairs and Psychology & Marketing, with notable contributions to understanding how marketers influence consumer vulnerability.
Teaching responsibilities include graduate courses on consumer behavior and data mining applications in business. She advises thesis projects for Ukrainian students displaced by war and previously taught at West Virginia University. Reshadi's professional affiliations include the Association for Consumer Research and American Marketing Association.
Her research aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 1 (No Poverty), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), 12 (Responsible Consumption), and 16 (Peace and Justice). Notable honors include winning WVU's 2018 Three-Minute Thesis Competition. Current work explores virtual tipping dynamics and over-trust in healthcare contexts, reflecting her commitment to bridging marketing practices with societal welfare.
