Farnaz Farahanipad

Dr. Farnaz Farahanipad is a Lecturer in Computer Science and Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington. Her research bridges computer vision, machine learning, and human-computer interaction with industry experience at Toyota North America and Alchera Inc.

Core research explores generative adversarial networks (GANs) for applications in pose estimation, face reconstruction, and hand gesture recognition. Additional expertise includes semi-supervised learning, object detection, and image segmentation techniques.

Recent work focuses on few-shot learning for robotic navigation (2024) and depth-based 3D hand pose estimation (2023). Earlier advancements include GAN-based solutions for masked face reconstruction and novel sensor designs for simultaneous shear-pressure monitoring.

Accolades include Best Workshop Paper (2022), multiple NSF Doctoral Consortium awards, and the University of Texas Outstanding Dissertation Award. She maintains professional certifications in GANs, data analytics, and cloud architecture.
