Farhang Forghanparast is a Lecturer in the Glenn Department of Civil Engineering at Clemson University, part of the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences (CECAS). He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Guilan (2012), two Master's degrees from the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili (2015) and Texas Tech University (2022), and a Ph.D. in Water Resources Management from Texas Tech University (2022). His research focuses on surface water resources, machine learning applications in hydrology, hydro-meteorological modeling, and reservoir optimization.
His work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, combining data-driven modeling with traditional hydrological techniques. Notable research includes streamflow prediction in intermittent rivers, drought indicator analysis in Ethiopia, and decision support systems for water resource management in the Colorado River Basin. He is a member of the American Water Resources Association (AWRA).
Teaching responsibilities include courses like Stormwater Management, Hydraulics, and Computational Thinking with Data Science. His recent publications (2014–2023) highlight advancements in 3D modeling, machine learning applications, and probabilistic modeling frameworks for hydrological systems.
