Fanny de Swart

Fanny de Swart is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Developmental Psychology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) and a postdoctoral researcher at Leiden University. Her work focuses on social processes in classrooms, including peer relationships, teacher-child dynamics, and group dynamics, particularly in special education settings. She holds a PhD from Radboud University (2023) with a dissertation on social processes in special education classrooms.

Her research spans three key projects: BeGRP (perspective-taking tools for teachers), SCCILLS (teacher-child relationships and social-emotional learning), and the 'Golden Weeks' groupdynamics initiative. She teaches courses on diagnostics and clinical psychology for school psychologists, including coordination roles for 'Diagnostiek' and 'Problemen op School.'

De Swart's research emphasizes longitudinal data analysis to understand daily classroom social interactions.
