Fanny Ramirez

Fanny Ramirez is an Assistant Professor of Media Law with joint appointments in the Manship School of Mass Communication and LSU's Center for Computation and Technology. She holds a PhD from Rutgers University.

Dr. Ramirez's research examines the use of information communication technologies in criminal justice contexts, focusing on issues of discrimination, privacy, and surveillance. Her current projects analyze social media evidence in domestic violence cases, youth gang prosecutions, and law enforcement body camera adoption.

Her publications investigate digital evidentiary practices, privacy challenges in legal contexts, and technological mediation of justice system interactions.
