Fannie Couture is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at HEC Montréal. She holds a PhD in Strategy, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship from the University of Sydney, an MSc in Management (Strategy) from HEC Montréal, and a BSW in Social Work from McGill University. Her research focuses on strategy-as-practice, pluralistic organizational contexts, and ethnographic methodologies. Recent work examines disaster risk management, organizational change dynamics, and governance challenges in sustainability initiatives. She teaches courses on strategic management, including Management stratégique des organisations and Gestion stratégique et politiques générales.
Dr. Couture’s research explores how organizations navigate complex strategic processes, particularly in volatile environments. Her 2024 studies on cyclone preparedness and field stability dynamics highlight micro-level organizational adaptations. She has also published on governance barriers to sustainability goals (2023) and cultural NPO challenges (2024). Her work bridges strategic theory with practical governance challenges across sectors.
Supervision activities include guiding MSc projects on strategic event adaptation in financial sectors and open strategic planning processes. Teaching responsibilities span undergraduate and graduate levels, emphasizing strategic frameworks and organizational policy analysis.
