Fang Wang is a Researcher in the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University, working in Dr. Kevin Myles' lab. She holds a B.S. in Horticultural Science from Anhui Agricultural University and an M.S. from Hokkaido University. Her research focuses on Vector Biology, Gene Editing, Virology, and Biotechnology, with current projects involving CRISPR-Cas9 and P-element transposon methods to generate mosquito mutants, vector-antiviral studies, and gene drive research. She also maintains laboratory and insectary operations.
Her work bridges molecular breeding of horticultural plants (previously) and entomological applications in disease control. Key technical competencies include transgenic methods, molecular marker-assisted selection, and advanced imaging techniques like 3D reconstruction after tissue clearing. Recent studies explore stem cell homeostasis in mouse incisors and FGF23’s role in bone development.
Publications emphasize tooth development, bone biology, and genetic regulation pathways. Collaborative efforts include mouse model studies for cancer and dental disorders. She actively contributes to lab infrastructure and insectary management, supporting both experimental and logistical aspects of entomological research.
