Dr Faiza El-Higzi is a Lecturer at the School of Political Science and International Studies within the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at The University of Queensland. She also serves as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Psychology, focusing on knowledge translation to address social inequality across gender, faith, and culture.

Her research spans four core areas:
- Domestic and family violence among culturally diverse communities, emphasizing migration and settlement impacts on family dynamics and male behavior in Middle Eastern and Asian communities.
- Health and mental health in migrant and refugee communities, including cultural perceptions of blood donation and health behaviors.
- Multiculturalism and diversity, addressing systemic inequality through leadership, advocacy, and workplace inclusion initiatives.
- Islam, gender, and agency, focusing on Muslim women's advocacy and feminism through an Islamic lens.
Her recent publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches to policy reform, including cultural analyses of Islamic law, refugee assistance strategies, and health anthropology. These works reflect her expertise in gender politics, multiculturalism, and collective action frameworks.

Dr El-Higzi is available for supervision, currently advising a PhD project on electronic word of mouth for blood donor motivation in Australia.
