Faith Martin

Dr. Faith Martin is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of Bath. Her research focuses on mental health, self-management strategies, HIV/AIDS psychosocial outcomes, and caregiver wellbeing. She has led projects funded by the Academy of Medical Sciences and British Academy, including the Faith Martin AMS network (2025-2026) and HIV Counselling in Uganda (2015-2016).

Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and wellbeing. Key research areas include systematic reviews of parental experiences, adolescent HIV psychometrics, and digital mental health interventions in global contexts. She has published 40 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work emphasizing caregiver needs and schizophrenia self-management programs.

Martin serves as a peer reviewer for BMC Psychology and completed her DClinPsy in 2014, focusing on PTSD in sub-Saharan Africa and cognitive behavioral therapy efficacy. Her research combines qualitative and quantitative methods to address mental health disparities across diverse populations.
