معرفی
Fahri Saatcioglu is a Professor at the Department of Biosciences, University of Oslo, with a focus on understanding androgen signaling and stress pathways in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He is affiliated with the Cell Signaling and Cancer research group and collaborates with institutions like Oslo University Hospital, National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Harvard University. His work bridges prostate cancer research with metabolic and stress signaling studies.
- Professor, University of Oslo (2013–Present)
- Researcher (20%), Oslo University Hospital (2011–Present)
- Visiting Scientist, Harvard School of Public Health (2000–2015)
Research interests center on androgen receptor (AR) mechanisms, unfolded protein response (UPR) in cancer, and STAMP2’s role in prostate cancer progression. His group investigates how ER stress and inflammatory pathways drive tumor development, aiming to identify therapeutic targets and biomarkers. Key projects include IRE1α-XBP1s and ATF4-FAM129A pathway analyses.
Recent publications highlight stress signaling as a driver of prostate cancer, with emphasis on metabolic reprogramming and UPR pathway regulation. Collaborative works span immunotherapy targets, bioinformatics tools, and nutritional interventions.
Scientific Awards

- Top Researcher Award, Norwegian Research Council (2004–2007)
- ACS Institutional Fellowship, UC San Diego (1995–1996)
- New Investigator Award, AIDS Related Disease Research Program (1993–1995)
- Salutatorian, Graduating Class (1985)
Mentorship includes advising 3 PhD, 4 MSc students, and 2 researchers currently, with a historical count of 11 PhD and 24 MSc graduates. His group contributes to international grant review committees and journals like Nature Communications and Cancer Research.
