Fae Amiro

Fae Amiro is a Research Fellow (Postdoctoral Associate) in the Department of Classical Studies at Western University. She holds a BA from Wilfrid Laurier University, and MA and PhD degrees from McMaster University. Her office is located in Lawson Hall Room 3211.

Her research focuses on:

• Roman imperial portraiture across media (coins, sculpture)
• Numismatic analysis of provincial minting practices
• Representation of imperial women in visual culture
• Typological distribution in Roman art
• Methodological approaches to ancient material culture

Recent publications demonstrate her expertise in Roman numismatics and imperial iconography, particularly examining how portrait types evolved and circulated across the Empire. Her work combines art historical analysis with material science approaches to study coinage and sculpture.
