Fady Barsoum

Dr. Fady Barsoum is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's College of Engineering, where he has served since 2005. He currently coordinates the Mechanical Engineering Internship Program, which has become ERAU's largest internship initiative. Previously, he led the Mechanical Engineering Program from 2012-2021, significantly expanding its scope and impact.

His research expertise spans structural health monitoring, non-destructive testing of composites, finite element analysis, and structural dynamics. Dr. Barsoum's work integrates experimental techniques like acoustic emission with computational modeling to address critical structural integrity challenges. His recent research has yielded a 2024 patent for non-destructive composite testing and an ongoing ANSYS-funded curriculum integration project.
