معرفی
Fabrizio Sordello is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, University of Turin. His research focuses on analytical chemistry, photocatalysis, environmental chemistry, and materials science with particular emphasis on plastic degradation, hydrogen production, and nanomaterial applications. He is involved in teaching across multiple programs including the Bachelor's Degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Technologies, Chemistry for Sustainable Manufacturing, and the Master's Degree in Environmental Chemistry, as well as the PhD in Chemical and Materials Sciences.
His work integrates experimental and computational approaches to study photocatalytic systems, electrochemical processes, and advanced oxidation techniques for environmental remediation. Notable research areas include the development of novel photocatalysts (e.g., metal oxides, graphene-TiO₂ hybrids), optimization of light-driven reactions (e.g., hydrogen production via controlled periodic illumination), and degradation mechanisms of microplastics and pharmaceutical pollutants in water systems.
- Key technologies: Photocatalytic metamaterials, electro-upcycling of plastics, CO₂ capture via metal oxalates
- Collaborations: Involves interdisciplinary projects bridging chemistry, environmental engineering, and materials science
He maintains an active lab group engaged in both fundamental and applied research, contributing to sustainable energy solutions and pollution mitigation strategies. His publications span over two decades with recent focus on emerging challenges like nanoplastics detection and green hydrogen production.
