Fabrizio Pizzioli

Fabrizio Pizzioli is a cognitive psychologist and researcher specializing in spoken language comprehension, currently working as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development (CBCD) within the School of Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London. He also holds a research position at the Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium, as Charged of Researches for the Fond National de la Recherche Scientifique (FNRS).

• Education: BSc and MSc in Psychology from University of Trieste; MSc in Cognition and Culture and D.Phil in Cognitive Developmental Psychology from UCLouvain.

His research focuses on the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying semantic and syntactic integration in children with Specific Language Impairment (SLI) and Williams Syndrome. He combines behavioral psycholinguistic methods with electrophysiological approaches to investigate how these populations process thematic roles and grammatical structures.

Recent work explores statistical learning as a foundation for language acquisition, examining its role in artificial language processing and visual domain correlations with real language comprehension.
