Fabrizio De Francesco is a Senior Lecturer in Politics at the School of Government and Public Policy, University of Strathclyde. He joined in 2012 after postdoctoral research at the University of Zurich and roles at the University of Lausanne. His PhD (University of Exeter, 2010) focused on policy diffusion, later expanded into a book on OECD-driven regulatory impact analysis. His research spans regulatory reform, EU governance, OECD influence, and good governance indicators. He has led projects on administrative law globalization, EU single-market implementation, and EU cohesion policy's impact on administrative capacity.
Education: Doctor of Social Science (University of Exeter, 2010); Master of Arts (University of Bradford, 2001); Bachelor of Economics (Università di Roma La Sapienza, 1998).
Research interests include policy diffusion, OECD-driven reforms, regulatory impact assessment, and administrative reform. He has advised governments, private firms, and international bodies like the World Bank. Current projects explore transnational administrative law, EU rail liberalization, and governance-indicator applications.
Teaching includes undergraduate courses on regulation and governance (L2401) and postgraduate comparative public policy (L2916). He supervises PhD students in his listed research areas. Awards include the Giandomenico Majone Prize (2014) and a European Visiting Research Fellowship (2015).
