Fabrice Jotterand is Professor of Bioethics and Medical Humanities and Director of the Graduate Program in Bioethics at the Medical College of Wisconsin, with a secondary appointment as Senior Researcher at the University of Basel's Institute for Biomedical Ethics.
He holds a PhD from Rice University, MA degrees from McGill University and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a BTh from HET-PRO. His research examines neuroethics, AI in healthcare, moral bioenhancement, and the philosophy of medicine, emphasizing ethical frameworks for emerging technologies.
Dr. Jotterand has published over 80 works including 8 books such as 'The Unfit Brain and the Limits of Moral Bioenhancement' and 'The Routledge Handbook of the Ethics of Human Enhancement'. His articles frequently address the intersection of neurotechnology, identity, and ethical governance.
He serves on editorial boards of multiple journals including the Journal of Medicine and Philosophy and founded the 'Advances in Neuroethics' book series. His current book project explores 'Medicine and the Human Project in a Technological Age'.
