Fabio Morgante

Fabio Morgante is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson University, affiliated with the College of Science. He is a member of the Clemson Center for Human Genetics and the Biomedical Data Science and Informatics (BDSI) program. His research focuses on quantitative and statistical genetics, particularly in understanding genetic architecture and improving phenotypic prediction accuracy for complex traits in humans and model organisms like Drosophila. Morgante’s work integrates genetics, data science, and statistics to develop novel analytical methods.

Lab and Collaborations: Based at the Clemson Center for Human Genetics (Greenwood, SC), the lab collaborates with the Greenwood Genetic Center and researchers like Drs. Trudy Mackay (North Carolina State), Matthew Stephens (University of Chicago), and Yang Li (University of Chicago). Current efforts include transcriptome-wide association studies and multi-tissue gene expression prediction.
