Fabio Mercandetti

Fabio Mercandetti is a former Associate Lecturer (now pensioned) at the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture (HSLU), affiliated with the Institute of Natural and Human Sciences. He holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering and completed business management studies at IMD (Lausanne).

Professional experience includes 10 years at Andersen Consulting/Accenture, followed by executive roles at Landis & Gyr Corp., Rieter Group, and Hubert+Suhner in industries such as automotive, aerospace, and consumer goods. He led operations and corporate development divisions internationally.

• Formerly responsible for Continuing Education courses in Industrial Engineering and IIT Projects
• Research focus on TransNet Aero project and startup-SME collaboration

Authored four books including Operations Management: Homo Faber at Work (2022) and Excellence in Operations (2023). His work emphasizes operational excellence, lean manufacturing, and post-merger integration strategies.
