Fabio Gramazio is a Full Professor at the Department of Architecture, ETH Zurich, and leads the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication. His work bridges academic research and professional practice, focusing on the integration of digital technologies into architectural production processes.
- Born in Langenthal (1970), he studied architecture at ETH Zurich (graduated 1996) and co-founded the artist collective etoy (1994), which won the Golden Nica at Ars Electronica in 1996.
- Co-founded architectural firm Gramazio & Kohler (2000) with projects like the sWISH* Pavilion (Expo 2002) and Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse Christmas lighting.
His research develops additive manufacturing for non-standardized architectural products using a custom 6x3m industrial robot system. He teaches courses like Digital Design I and Immersive Architecture, exploring design strategies for emerging production technologies.
