Fabio Caiani

Dr. Fabio Caiani is a Senior Lecturer in Arabic and Persian at the University of St Andrews, School of Modern Languages. He specializes in modern Arabic fiction with a focus on Iraqi literature, particularly exploring experimental works of prominent Arab writers like Muhammad Khudayyir. His research bridges close textual analysis with postcolonial and trans-generic frameworks. He teaches Arabic language and literature modules at all academic levels, including the innovative Honours module Fannanat: Arab Women's Creativity in Modern Arab Culture.
