معرفی
Prof. Fabian von Rohr is an Associate Professor at the Department of Quantum Matter Physics, University of Geneva. He holds a PhD from the University of Zurich (2014), with postdoctoral research at LMU Munich and Princeton University. Previously, he was an SNSF Ambizione Fellow (2017-2021) and SNSF Eccellenza Professor (2021-2022) at the University of Zurich. His research focuses on the discovery and characterization of quantum materials, including superconductors, topological materials, and 2D systems. He leads the vonRohrLab, which combines solid-state chemistry and condensed-matter physics to explore materials for quantum technologies.
- Education: BSc/MSc in Chemistry/Physics (ETH Zurich), PhD (University of Zurich).
- Awards: Mercator Award 2014, Ružička Prize 2021, Werner Prize 2022, EU-40 Materials Prize.
- Key Research Themes: Quantum materials, superconductivity, magnetic interactions, crystal synthesis.
His lab specializes in synthesizing complex materials, growing single crystals, and characterizing their electronic and structural properties. Recent work includes studies on van der Waals antiferromagnets, heavy fermion systems, and novel superconductors. Collaborations span academia and industry, advancing applications in quantum computing and sensing.
Awards and recognitions highlight his contributions to materials science and quantum technologies. Ongoing projects explore topological superconductors, strain-induced phenomena, and material design principles for advanced functionalities.
