FRANCISCO OMIL PRIETO

Francisco Omil Prieto is a Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Higher Technical School of Engineering. He leads research within the BIOGROUP Environmental Biotechnology group and is part of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Environmental Technologies (CRETUS). His work focuses on wastewater treatment technologies, micropollutant removal, and anaerobic processes. He obtained his PhD in 1993 with a thesis on treating marine product canning wastewater.

Research interests include environmental biotechnology applications for water quality improvement, biofiltration systems, and advanced oxidation processes.
