معرفی
Francisco Luis Mesa Ledesma is a Full Professor at the University of Seville's School of Computer Engineering, affiliated with the Department of Applied Physics I. His research focuses on microwave engineering, electromagnetic theory, and metamaterials, with a strong emphasis on antenna design, circuit modeling, and wave propagation phenomena. He leads the MICROONDAS (GMUS) research group and has contributed to numerous projects funded by national and international grants, including those addressing periodic structures, frequency-selective surfaces, and leaky-wave antennas.
His work spans theoretical and experimental studies of electromagnetic phenomena such as extraordinary transmission, metamaterial superlenses, and subwavelength imaging. Notable projects include the analysis of glide-symmetry structures for bandwidth optimization and the development of novel antenna designs for 5G communication systems. He collaborates extensively with global institutions, presenting at conferences like EuMC, IEEE AP-S, and URSI. Mesa Ledesma has authored over 150 publications, with contributions to topics such as circuit models for periodic structures, metamaterial applications, and computational electromagnetics.
He holds leadership roles in academic and research networks, contributing to the education of graduate students through advanced courses like 'Fundamentos Físicos de la Informática' and 'Física I.' His research integrates analytical and numerical methodologies, including spectral domain analysis and finite-element methods, to solve complex electromagnetic problems.
