F. Brett Cox is the Charles A. Dana Professor at Norwich University's College of Arts & Sciences, teaching courses in American Literature, Science Fiction, Film Studies, and Creative Writing. He previously served as Chair of the Department of English and Communications.
- Education: Ph.D. from Duke University, M.A. and B.A. from University of South Carolina
His research spans American literature, science fiction and fantasy, and the literature of the fantastic. He has published fiction, poetry, and drama in magazines and anthologies, with notable recognition including a starred review in Publisher's Weekly for his 2018 short story collection. His work also explores the intersection of 20th-century fantasy and contemporary creative writing.
Cox co-edited the anthology Crossroads: Tales of the Southern Literary Fantastic (Tor, 2004) and founded the Shirley Jackson Awards. He lives in Vermont with his spouse, playwright Jeanne Beckwith, and remains active in local theater and literary endeavors.
