Ezra W. Zuckerman Sivan is the Alvin J. Siteman (1948) Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he also co-founded the PhD Program in Economic Sociology. He holds a BA in Political Science from Columbia University and an MA and PhD in Sociology from the University of Chicago.
His research bridges economic sociology and management, focusing on how social processes shape business dynamics and vice versa. Key themes include categorical structures in markets, legitimacy work, and the interplay between strategy and social identity. Notable contributions address elite cultural consumption, market entry authenticity, and partisan moral flexibility in politics.
