Ezra Keshet

Ezra Keshet is an Associate Professor of Linguistics at the University of Michigan, affiliated with the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy (as a faculty affiliate). He holds a Ph.D. from MIT (2008) and an A.B.-A.M. from Harvard University (1999). His research focuses on formal semantics and pragmatics, particularly linguistic focus, intensionality, conditional conjunctions, and dynamic semantics. He has been recognized with the 2024 Individual Award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate Education from the College of LSA for his innovative teaching and inclusive classroom environment.

Dr. Keshet’s academic journey includes supervising over 35 students on topics such as tense, discourse structure, and prosody. His research explores how language encodes meaning across different contexts, including studies on pronoun interpretation, anaphora resolution, and the semantics of ASL. He teaches courses like LING 111: Introduction to Language and graduate-level semantics, contributing to both undergraduate and graduate education.
