Charlotte Reinholtz is an Associate Professor (Retired) and Queen’s National Scholar at Queen’s University, affiliated with the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures within the Faculty of Arts and Science. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Southern California (1999) and a B.A. in Swahili and Linguistics from SOAS, University of London (1985).
Research Interests: Her work focuses on syntax, morpho-syntax, and the syntax-semantics interface, with particular attention to quantifiers, polarity items, indefinite pronouns, and functional categories. She also studies Algonquian (e.g., Cree), Scandinavian (Danish), and Bantu languages. Earlier research explored Germanic 'verb second' phenomena and nonconfigurationality.
Teaching: Courses include LING 100 (Introduction to Linguistics), LING 330 (Morphology), LING 340 (Syntax), LING 415 (Semantics), and LING 475 (Field Methods).
