Ezekiel Bonillas

Ezekiel Bonillas serves as Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at California State University, San Bernardino's Randall W. Lewis School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation within the Jack H. Brown College. Joining full-time in August 2022 after seven years as an adjunct faculty member, his career bridges academic rigor and practical business development experience gained through founding multiple ventures and leading economic initiatives.

His educational foundation includes:

• Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management (2022)
• MBA in Entrepreneurship from California State University, San Bernardino

Dr. Bonillas' research program centers on minority entrepreneurship with particular emphasis on Latino business owners, examining systemic barriers in capital access, growth constraints, and cultural influences on entrepreneurial success. His work extends to intrapreneurship dynamics in nonprofit organizations and comprehensive analyses of regional entrepreneurial ecosystems through state-level reports.

Analysis of his publication record reveals consistent focus on underrepresented entrepreneurs, with recurring themes of racial equity in business formation, socioeconomic mobility through entrepreneurship, and policy interventions for inclusive economic development. His State of Entrepreneurship Reports provide critical data tracking business formation trends and economic indicators across California.

As an educator since 2014, Dr. Bonillas teaches Entrepreneurship, Finance, and Management courses while mentoring students through CSUSB's Student Startup Program. His industry experience informs practical curriculum development, particularly in small business financing and venture scaling strategies.

He actively contributes to the entrepreneurial ecosystem through CSUSB's Small Business Development Center and Veterans Entrepreneurship Program, having previously directed economic development initiatives for the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians and founded the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership's Small Business Development Center in 2012.
