Professor Eyal Winter holds the P.W.S. Andrews and Elizabeth Brunner Chair in Industrial Economics at Lancaster University's Lancaster University Management School (Department of Economics). His research focuses on Behavioral/Experimental Economics, Game Theory, and Economic Theory, with interdisciplinary collaborations in Psychology, Law, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Finance. He advises students in behavioral economics with experimental/empirical backgrounds and game theory expertise.
Key research interests include decision-making processes, strategic behavior in competitive environments, and the application of experimental methods. His recent work examines herding behaviors in grant competitions and the strategic forgoing of information. He also explores theoretical constructs like coarse preferences in economic modeling.
Current projects include investigating social network incentives and platform-user interactions (2022–2025). Advising includes PhD student Jess Alam. Active in research groups: Behavioral and Experimental Economics, Economics Research Group, and Industrial Organisation & Economic Theory.
