Eyal Ben-Isaac, MD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine and serves as the Pediatric Residency Program Director at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). He completed his pediatric residency at CHLA in 1992 and maintains active inpatient/outpatient clinical practice in the Division of General Pediatrics. Since 1994, he has overseen training for approximately 85 residents annually, developing innovative educational tools including Objective Structured Clinical Exams (OSCEs), a Pediatric Board Review course, competency assessments, and digital learning platforms.
His research focuses on medical education innovation and clinical pediatrics, with emphasis on: competency-based training, duty hour impacts, simulation-based learning, and general pediatric care. He has pioneered curricula addressing trainee well-being, clinical skill retention, and adaptive teaching methodologies.
