Ewa Pobłocka

Prof. Ewa Pobłocka is a renowned Polish concert pianist and Professor at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, where she teaches piano, and serves as a guest professor at the University of the Arts Geidai in Tokyo and Nagoya.

Her academic training includes:

• Graduation with distinction from the State Higher School of Music in Gdańsk (1981) under Zbigniew Śliwiński and Jerzy Sulikowski
• Postgraduate studies in Hamburg under Conrad Hansen
• Artistic mentorship from Jadwiga Sukiennicka, Rudolf Kerer, Tatiana Nikołajewa, and Martha Argerich

Prof. Pobłocka's artistic research centers on virtuosic piano performance, chamber music collaboration, and the promotion of contemporary Polish compositions. She has premiered and recorded works by Panufnik, Lutosławski, Szymański, and Mykietyn, with concertos by Szymański and Mykietyn dedicated specifically to her. Her interpretive expertise spans baroque to modern repertoire, emphasizing Polish musical heritage.

Her discographic achievements comprising nearly 50 recordings for labels including Deutsche Grammophon and CD Accord have garnered significant recognition:

As an educator, Prof. Pobłocka has conducted masterclasses across six continents and served on juries for major competitions including the International Chopin Piano Competition (2005) and Hamamatsu International Piano Competition (2012). Her pedagogical contributions extend to developing performance techniques for contemporary repertoire.

Prof. Pobłocka maintains active chamber collaborations including the Multitrio ensemble with her daughters (soprano Ewa Leszczyńska and cellist Maria Leszczyńska), previous work with the Silesian Quartet, and partnerships with artists like Ewa Podleś and Dang Thai Son. Her performance history includes over 300 venues worldwide from Berlin's Philharmonie to New York's Lincoln Center.
