Evelyne M. Bornier serves as an Endowed Alumni Professor of French within the Department of World Languages, Literatures & Cultures at Auburn University's College of Liberal Arts. Dr. Bornier holds a PhD from Louisiana State University and an Advanced Studies Diploma from the University of Franche-Comté in Besançon, France. Her academic background bridges American and French institutions, providing her with a unique perspective on Francophone cultures across continents.
Bornier's research spans multiple dimensions of Francophone literature and civilization, with particular expertise in 19th-21st Century French & Francophone Literature across the Maghreb, Middle East, and Caribbean regions. She has made significant contributions to Louisiana French literature studies, comparative literature, French film studies, and translation studies. Her work often intersects with business French applications and service-learning pedagogies, demonstrating her commitment to practical language education.
